KIKI YABLON, KPA CTP, CPDT-KA, serves as training manager and senior trainer with Animal Behavior Training Concepts, leading group classes and teaching private lessons.

A former magazine and newspaper editor, Kiki met owner Laura Monaco Torelli as a client in 2005 and began her path to professional training as an apprentice in 2009, assisting with group classes on nights and weekends. She left journalism in late 2010, while attending the Karen Pryor Academy for Animal Training and Behavior, and became a KPA Certified Training Partner in early 2011. She has since earned KPA's "Client Endorsed" distinction four years running. Her services are recommended by veterinarians, including the behavior practices at Chicagoland Veterinary Behavior Consultants and Veterinary Behavior at Illinois, and she has presented public talks on separation anxiety and on-leash behavior problems with veterinary behavior specialist Dr. Kelly Ballantyne. She has contributed training articles to Karen Pryor Clicker Training and writes training columns for Chicago's One Tail at a Time rescue and Rover-Time Dog Walking & Pet Sitting.

Kiki regularly attends continuing education seminars, classes, and conferences. She successfully completed Dr. Susan Friedman's eight-week professional course in behavior analysis for animal professionals, Living and Learning With Animals, in 2012 and is now a teaching assistant for the course. She has also completed Kenneth and Debbie Martin's 12-week Puppy Start Right instructor's course; Bob Bailey and Parvene Farhoody's Discrimination, Cueing, and Criteria chicken workshops; and several in-depth seminars with ABA professor Dr. Jesus Rosales-Ruiz. She is an approved AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluator, and has earned primary-level certification in TAGteach in order to better help humans help their dogs. In March 2014 she passed the exam given by the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers to become a CPDT-KA.

Kiki and her husband live in Logan Square with a shepherd mix named Pigeon.
